enough about you, what about me?

Kai Orion is an internationally recognized experimental-pop artist from Washington, D.C. Orion's career began in 2014, when he won a cover contest held by indie rock band The National for his cover of their song "I Need My Girl," using household objects as instruments. Since then, he's earned a reputation for blending experimental sounds with heartfelt songwriting, drawing comparisons to the likes of Peter Gabriel and Tom Waits. This culminated in May 2019, when Orion was selected to be one of 20 musicians worldwide participating in a 4 day recording session at Peter Gabriel's own Real World Studios in Bath, England. His collaborative song "Raining In My Head" was subsequently released through the Real World label. Kai Orion's second album, "Start To End" was released in 2019 and features some of his most compelling work yet, combining found sounds and organic textures with strong melodies and charismatic vocals.
